I was planning a expedition with the Bumblebee. When I got on the Carryall project, it was put on hold since the Carryall would be a better choice for such a trip. The Carryall being all enclosed will provide better weather protection, The Cummins witht he NV-4500 will give excellent fuel economy, and it rides so much better. With all thats going on, and already inked plans for the summer of 2005, I am inking in this trip for the summer of 2006. The trip will be the following;
Schroon Lake, NY to Bar Harbour, Me
Bar Harbour, Me to Yarmouth, NS via the Cat Ferry
Yarmouth, NS up the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia to Cape Breton and then up the western coast of Cape Breton thru Inverness and Cheticamp, Meat Cove to Sidney, NS
Sidney, NS , board the Channel Port aux Basques Ferry to Newfoundland. Cross Newfoundland to Lewisporte, NF
Board the ship at Lewisporte for 36 hours to Goose Bay/Happy Valley Labrador.
Goose Bay/Happy Valley to Labrador City is 578 km of gravel and 4x4 conditions at certain times with a stop in Chruchhill Falls for Fuel and a few days, then on to Labrador City.
Labrador City down the St Lawrence River to Quebec City, then south to Montreal, and then back to Schroon Lake, NY
Since I built the Carryall, I have put a lot of miles on it. I have proved to myself its roadworthy for such a expedition. Actually with the Explorer seats, its more comfortable than my Ram 2500. The trip will be about 2500 miles and 2 to 3 weeks depending on stops for sight seeing etc. A Major equipment change is presently in the works that will make the trip much more enjoyable and comfortable. Without question, this trip will be made.
