The Army kept track of vehicle performance during Operation Desert Storm. The gms and Blazers had the most frequent rate of downtime and out of service and terminal repairs.
They are not any more reliable than gm civilian models, the engine has been discontinued and is trouble prone. That being said, you have an equal chance of getting a lemon or a keeper. Parts are plentiful if you use civilian gm parts. Most have been pretty beat up. Depending upon what you intend to use it for, a first generation 1 ton Dodge with a Cummins would be a much better bet.
