Build a cradle for it,strap tank to cradle. The straps will allow some flex, unlike welded brackets that will probably crack the tank.
A good source of inert gas to fill tanks with is the exhaust of a running, warmed up engine. It won't have enough oxygen in it to support combustion. Use a vaccuum cleaner hose from exhaust to tank,let it run a while to displace the air in the tank, and let my know when you do it so I can stay a safe distance away....thats how we did it at the welding shop anyhow.
