Pretty much the same, although we have many Propositions on the ballot and there are thousands of commercials for them. When the legislature takes no action to fix problems, California has a mechanism called Propositions, where the citizens can collect signatures and vote to overturn the legislature. That is exactly what we do here to correct the mess that the democratic controlled legislature has created. First we threw out the socialist democrat governor, then new Governator Arnold vetoed many of the spending bills, now we are correcting more of the problems at the polls. It's the American way! By the way, only LA and San Fran vote democrat. Just like in the USA, President Bush carries the rural areas by 20% or more, Kerry is only 5% ahead in a state that algore won by 16%.
