M880 transfer case

Hi; I have a M880 1977 318 auto trans. Everything runs great except the transfer case. It vibrates very loud when letting off on the gas and I can't get it in and out of 4x4. I know that model is a big pain with transfer cases but there's got to be a better solution. Is there anybody out there that can help me ? Frank
