Thanks for the advice. Does that metal piece that holds the channel actually come out? I think this is part of the problem.
I took the new channel out and reinstalled an old one that was much wider at the bottom . I wa then able to get the window in but it is very stiff. I also found the vent window is hard to operate now. I think this is related to how far down it is drawn down by being screwed into the center metal channel.
So I guess I can tinker with this some more and would consider removing the channel on the latch side (near the door opening ) if it was not too hard.
I have found these doors and related mechanisms to be pretty diabolical. Ever try getting one of the locks and links out?
I did this on my 47 Fargo but what a pain.
