Hello:
I been looking for a sutable gas 3/4 ton 4X4 to use as a snow plow truck for quite some time. Well, I am acquiring a 1985 Dodge W-250 4X4. I had planned on taking about 6 of the '73-79 Ford trucks I had settin back in my boneyard and just building a truck, but then the deal on this Dodge fell in my lap, and I jumped on it! Well, also lately, I have a deal going where I might be trading a Ford from the fleet for a 1974 Ramcharger. So, needless to say, I have some questions. Any helpful answers (or witty smart alecky jokes) would be appreciated:
First off, The '85 W-250 has a NP208 T-case, and a NP435 trans. The transfer works good as is, BUT I would like to get ahold of a NP205 to keep on hand for when I do kill the NP208. What changes do I have to make to the truck to put the NP205 in? Is it a 100% direct bolt in swap?
The '85 also has a Dana 44 Front with the 'RamTrac' 4X4 system with no lockouts. Can lockouts be a direct add on?
What will it take to put a 1977-1978 Grille onto a 1974? 1985? 1991? I really like the looks of the 77-78 Grille, and would like to add it to all 3 of the trucks if it is not too big a pain.
Also, I have a small dump hoist I want to put on the '85. Will the PTO from a NP420 or a NP540 work on the NP435? I have these around, but no NP435 PTO's. What PTO's will work on a NP435?
