I pulled it apart and started over and it is looking better. There isn't really a stop for the muffler going onto the down pipe, though it felt like one earlier. I just drove it on with a big hammer and got it another 1/2" forward. I think the thing I learned is that the body of the muffler has to be forward of the front axle u-joint on the t-case.
I put everything in position w/o hangers and bent the hangers to fit. One mistake I made was thinking the hangers would fit without alteration.
One thing I haven't figured out: There is a hanger for the tail pipe but no obvious place to put it. It looks like there should be a 1/4" hole on the bottom flange of the frame for it but there isn't.
