Purple Castrol Cleaner will even desolve old rubber mounts from a Transfer Case so you can remove the bolt. You have to wear gloves but it will take off anything including paint if you let it soak. It is a very high detergent and you can delute it also. No fire hazard but it is spendy to fill the tank at 3-4.00 a gal from Wal-Mart. Mark H.
