Larry,I just looked at the pictures you sent of your WDX.... beautiful truck!
My 1946 WDX ended her days as a firewood hauler, with lots of abuse. There's no bed,but it had a flatbed,as I was told by the former owner.
I pressure washered the three layers of different colored paint off. It's gray with the underside gray too.The original interior color is dark gray.I guessing it was probably ordered new by the Navy or Coast Guard ? Is there anyway I can find out?
It's going to be a long restoration to be sure! I'm restoring a 1950 B2PW right now as it's in alot better shape,I drove it home.
On this B2 I saw some kind of writing under the doors. As I wet sanded with 400 paper, Atomic Engery Commission appeared.
The truck has been painted once over yellow with black fenders. The original color is pale white with a slight gray under tone. The underside is black. It also has the first series pickup bed and it is the winch model.
I tried finding info on the long defunked AEC on the internet, not much info there.
I'm going to try and restore it back as a AEC truck.
Does it glow in the dark? I've heard that quite often.
Best Regards, Mark
