When I installed my first one, it came with a pair of steel shim washers that you should install between the lockrite drivers and the original side gears, (The shims restrict the movement of the drivers away from the pinion cross, thus the pins are still engaged more than they would if the shims were not there) also you should install NEW pinion shaft and cross pins, the clearance is very close after that,(approx 1/16" of movement of each driver away from the cross pinion) my unit works just great! I've had it in Moab, and Jarbidge plus a lot of hard snow driving off road with no problems.
