I've seen some dodges with real sand tyres (as opposed to NDT or tractor chevron types) but they all seemed to be 13" rims with wide sand tyres on.
Not a clue where they came from, tyres or wheels, but you could see them on Mercury cars, Dodges, LRDG Chev, i think they would just have been whatever was available with that bolt pattern.
Dont know why they used 13" rims instead of 16" either, but for a sand tyre to work it has to be fairly wide so they were probably looking at fender, chassis, and steering clearances.
