I Started welding back on the farm when I was about 10 or 12. I never knew that I did't know how to weld until years later when I snuck into a night class for a couple of semesters that a friend taught. The real lesson here is take a class. Until you do that you are only dangerous. Don't do any tie rods or things of that nature until you are sure you are competent. If I have any critical parts to be done I look up a real welder, cause I'm still not one.
