Hi to the list. Last month I made a bid for a real nice WC-63 6x6 which belonged to a borough in Pennsylvania. The borough rejected all the bids they received, and have issued a letter stating that the truck will be re-opened for bidding on September 18th, along with a rough as a cobb M37. I didn't take photos of the M37, as it is a real basket case, but I looked pretty thoroughly at the WC63. It is in very nice shape, with a very good condition original wooden bed, under a piece of 2.5 ton canvas adapted to size. The steel on the bed panels is in excellent shape, as is the cab and engine. It runs very well, but unfortunately, it has a T214 engine. It is a 1943 model, and I believe it is in the first 6000 serial numbers. It is missing the air cleaner, but has a Carter Carb. All 9.00 X 16.00 tires are in very good shape, mounted on non combat rims, including spare. It is equipped with a very nicely done hard cab, which is probably a military one; I have only seen one of these before and didn't look at it clinically to be able to determine if this one is right. I have taken photographs of the truck, to give a better impression of it, and am posting one here. The only other bad thing about this truck is it needs brake work- one of the wheels is stuck. If you are interested in the rest of the photos, you are welcome to them, but I am asking for a finder's fee for the truck- only IF you get it. Cheap- just $50.00 to cover time, gas and photos. If you are interested in the rest of the information, please email me with your name and address, and I will explain a little more about truck condition, how the last bidding went, why it was re-opened for bidding, and where I think the bids need to be to take the truck (it is an interesting story, and I will post it after the truck sells, if it sells next time). I'll also send you the links of the other photos. By looking at photos of the re-imported WC63's, I am guessing that with the exception of the not original engine, and the brakes and missing aircleaner, this truck is at least as nice as those selling for $6000-$7000, but I don't think it will bring that at the auction. And if all the cheap skates out there think I am gouging people for $50.00, try to find some one else to get all this good information for you that cheap.
