I purchased a truck a while back without a title.
I got a bill of sale from the owner, thinking it was enough to
get a new title and register it .
The seller bought this jeep in the 70's, and never registered it
as it was for use on his farm.
Now that I am ready to put this vehicle on the road, I am getting a liitle trouble from the registry of motor vehicles (MASS)
It seems that the registry requires a past registration on this vehicle from the seller. The best I could come up with is a 1955
registration from the guy that this seller bought the truck from in
1970 or so. Still not good enough for the registry...
What to do???? I can't contact the owner before him for a
bill or sale....
Any idea's... Isn't there some means of getting this thing titled
and on the road (legally) There must be some sort of
grandfather law or some way to get it legally processed.
Someone out there must have gone thru this before...
Not every restorable truck rescued from abandonment for many years has an owner who remembers where he put the title....
