M & E Enterprises & Equipment in Seattle (I have no connection with them) has 12 take-out Cummins 6AT diesels for sale, 43-87K miles, all good running
condition. $2250 each without radiator. 3.4L, 6cyl, turbo, 120hp@3600, 210 ft-lb @ 22-2400, SAE#3 flywheel/adapter (I'm not positive about the SAE#3). If
the latter is the case, Spicer 3053A 2.5 ton 5spds will be a bolt-in, those have 5th gear either 0.85 or 0.79. These go for $4-600 in good running condition.
With 11.00R16s that would give rpms either 2630 or 2925 at 65 mph; motor tops out at 3600. Using 5.83s of course saves $650 plus same in labor, unless
lockers are planned. If 35-36" tires are going to be used, I'd go to 4.89s. The phone # is 206-246-7120. The motor is built in Japan at a Cummins factory and
supported by the Cummins parts network. they were taken out of UPS trucks with low mileage due to a fleetwide re-power program. I'm having the guy
measure the motor front of fan to back of block and I'll post it when I get the number.
