Robert, Thanks for your response. I'm primarily looking for a weekend project. My doctor and wife tell me I need to find a hobby and my job doesn't count. But I don't want to dump a lot of money into a project where I can't get it back. Either by selling it or using it. The seller wants $750 for the M-37 which seems to be a reasonable price for a running M-37. But he also has a two old forest service Humvee's and offered one for $4K. I will probably buy the Hummer, repair it and turn it over to finance a WDX project.
