I have a 1949 PW. It has a Rochester carburetor (can't tell the model; there are no apparent markings that I can see). I think it needs a rebuild. Symptoms: idles and runs at speed pretty well, but then stalls when coming to a stop. Off road, runs rough and/or stalls when truck is tilted to right or left side; seems fine going up or down hills.
Questions: Should I rebuild the Rochester or replace with some other brand. Which one? Originality is not an issue; reliable running is. If I replace, how do I find suitable linkage. The throttle assembly (including manual throttle) seems pretty stock as it leave the firewall. Any help from more experienced PW folks would be much appreciated.
