I have seen that engine used in another M-series conversion. It's a supercharged (no turbo) 3 cylinder, 2 stroke diesel. Our old '74 Kenworth Fire engines use a 6 and one 8 cylinder version of the same engine. Good power out of the 8V53, but a lot of firemen have permanent hearing damage from rumming them without mufflers. HAHA!!!
I like the truck!
BTW, Does anyone have any expirence with Isuzu 6BD turbo diesel engines? A neighbor has one with a 4 speed transmission and all accessories, running takeout, 12volt starter, etc. Legenth from back of head to front of fan is about 32". 200 hp with the turbo.
