I have picked up lots of old military ones for cheap to free from yard sales and people clearing out junk but almost all are useless due to rust, holes, or having dirty sludge in them from storing used oil. I expect the ones the DRMOs put up for sale are about as bad. Got some nice new-looking water jerry cans at the DRMO once but all the paint on the inside was peeling off. I would say for survival purposes, best buy new ones even though they're expensive. Don't forget to get a spout. They won't pour worth a darn without one. Keep a lookout for used once cheap, but look them over real good since most seem to be junk.
