...that the vacuum gauge is a great tuning and diagnostic tool. And you CAN tell when each individual cylinder is firing on a sick motor. The needle will tell you if valves are sticking or if rings are worn, or if the compression on one or more cylinder is down, it's a great tool. Timing lights are OK for smog settings on stock motors, but they are pretty useless on a modified motor.
