You are correct in last forum where I tried to explain TDC and valve cross-over. I was camping and realized I should have said was firing in Other paired cylinder, not one with valve movement.
But, I still think intakes start opening just before tdc and exhausts finish closing just after tdc. Atleast little foreign cars did this in the early '70's when I did work for college students. The reason hot cams sound so rough at idle is that the exhausts are still quite open later as the intakes open earlier. Correct me someone if I'm wrong about cross-over.
