Front engine mount question

I have to pull my engine on my 49 B1PW. The front mount is thenormal one where there is a bracket on the front cross member and a rubber mount on the top. The bracket to crossmember bolt on the drivers side came off fine, but the one on the passenger side was coming off hard. Suddenly whatever the female threads are in let go. Now whatever is in the front cross member turns when I turn the bolt. When I feel up there it feels like a nut, but I have not been able to hold it except with a 15/16" socket, which seems big and didn't really feel right.

So does anyone know what is up there and how I can hold it? I would rather not cut the bolt if Idon't have to.
