Route - Over or under Lake Erie? (Through Canada?)

I'll be pulling the PW and was wondering if any one had any ideas on traveling through Canada or not, other than having to have a clean (No Mud) vehicle?

Getting Across the boarder in Detroit is tough at the wrong times, and I'm not sure about Buffalo.

720 miles through Canada
754 miles through Cleveland
