M-37 Master cylinder pressure release

I just install a new master cylinder from Memphis Equipt an the brakes do not release after you press on the pedal (lees release each time they are applied until they are locked up). I seem to remember that there use to be a way to cure this or is it wishful thinking. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
