Our road draft tube smoked but of course that is what its supposed to do. Relieve gasses from the crankcase. Only problem is that the road draft tube is really only being used at speed, speeds over 25 mph when air is rammed in causing the acidic air to be forced out.
You may consider using the PCV valve system instead. Air is drawn in through the air filter, down the oil filler pipe, through the crankcase and exhausted through the exhaust manifold. It works at all speeds, and is considered the option for "severe duty".
