The lower edge of my beds front panel is mostly gone, the part the turns 90 deg rearward to and holds the bed's boards.
I'm planning on getting a new piece of metal (16 ga.) bent and cut the existing lower 2-2.5" off and but weld it on. I'll have to take my time and care so as to get a clean non buckling weld (many small short spot welds) that I can grind smooth and hide.
I've thought about doing a lap weld with a seaming tool, and have the clean flat side in the bed, but don't like the idea of the seam showing on the front corners.
I'm not doing a restoration, but want the truck to look good and not over repaired.
Anyone else ever repaired there front bed panel?
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Will
