1954 C1 owners, Chrome or Painted gauges??

I am trying to figure out when Dodge switched from the chome bezeled, mechanical HEAT gauge cluster to the off-white painted gauge cluster with the electrical HEAT gauge.

The field data I have seen so far shows late 1954 C-1, possibly as late as the end of C-1, with the new gauges coming in with the C-3 models.

The parts books are showing me the change being made at the changeover between the 1953 B-4 and the 1954 C-1.

Does anyone have a truck that can confirm or deny this question?
