I did both of mine. The only issue that I had was getting the cap off and on to get to the spider gears. I mounted it to a diff holde which i mounted to a work bench. We almost tipped over the work bench getting it off but once it broke loose we were fine. Not a difficult job to put in a lockrite and new gears. Setting up the backlash is not difficult. On one of mine I set it up by feel then used a dial indicator. It was spot on and needed no further adjustment. Even had a guy who had rebuilt many diffs look at the job and he said all was fine. You will need a tourch to heat up the case in order to remove the cap. You could preheat the case in the oven and freeze the cap when you are reassembling.
Just take your time.
