rear end noise

I am hearing what sounds like a dragging muffler (from in the cab) on my wm300. It's definately not that, it almost sounds like it is coming from the rear differential at real low speed. It's a tinny dragging sound. Almost a clunk when first letting the clutch out then picking up as the drive shaft picks up speed. ( now this sounds like a click and clack mystery)I'm thinking it might be fluid level in the rear differential. Any other guesses? What to tear down first?
