About every 1000 to 1500 miles, my 230 engine's oil filter seal (under the lid) starts seeping, and as time goes by the seepage gets worse. Yesterday, I replaced the filter (and changed oil in the crankcase), along with a new filter lid seal. With the new seal, I get no leakage, but I have to really crank down on the T-handle (by hand) in order to make it seal completely. I'm afraid I'm going to strip the threads or snap off the threaded tube in the lid or the threaded tube in the housing.
Does anyone else have to tighten the T-handle so much? Any other suggestions for improving the sealing ability of this setup?
Thanks,
Matt
