I had always assumed that President Reagan developed his love of horses from his movie days, it turns out that in 1935 or 36 he joined the Army, he was a 1st. Lt in the Calvary! He learned care and feeding the Army way. When WWII started he was promoted to Captain and assigned to the Air Force.
