It would be nice to have the sedan but since you mentioned your kid, Do you think when he's 17 that he'd really be into driving the sedan to school? My guess is that the truck is what he'll be into and he can keep it long after you're gone. Secondly, I think the truck is more practical (ie snowplowing, ripping out stumps, four-wheeling, driving to the hardware store for potting soil). Lastly, in your environment, the ruggedness of the truck makes more sense to me. You may be able to drive the sedan every year at the 4th of July parade.
Of course, I and most likely we, are all biased towards the Power Wagons.
