Differential
The three most common problems:
1. Just an old seal that needs replaced
2. The flange may have a groove in it and needs a speedi-sleeve
3. Bad pinion bearing cuasing the spinion shaft to wooble and let oil past the seal
Manifold
Probably nothing more than the nuts have loosened up causing the gasket to blow. I've used manifolds that have had a 1/4 difference in alignment between the exhaust and intake and they worked fine.
