I think they did that because the front ends of the Land Rovers are not springed the same as the M-37s and Power Wagons. So for the extra 100 plus pounds hanging out there they designed them lighter. It dose hold 150 ft of cable and appears to be the same size. They did have a nice set up fot spooling the cable to keep it from jumping the spool sides and the 4 roller Fairlead sure could come in handy. I was suprised how this one was also rated for 1,500 lb single line/3,000 lb double hoist lift and most winches will not recomend using them for lifting up only pulling since hanging weight is harder on a winch then pulling.
