The spring loaded float needle could be your problem. I was told they are garbage and should not be used. Luckily for me, my truck had a solid needle, so when I rebuilt the carb, I simply reused the solid needle. I've also been told that NAPA sells the solid needles. Also, make sure your flost is adjusted so it sits no more than 5/64ths from the top of the carb body when holding the tongue of the float against the needle. This is supposedly the optimum setting.
