Actually I clean airducts for a "living" (7.50 aint a living but I'm 18 without much responsibility so it works). We have a machine sitting in the warehouse that could be run in it for couple hours and it'd be gone. I spilt transmission full of gear oil and it took care of that real quick like. But that doesn't help you since you aren't in mississippi. Best thing I've ever done was lots of the strong fabreeze and time. Actually I hung a rubber foot airfreshner from the mirror and that helped too.
