I attended the Beltring War and Peace show yesterday. This is about the third time I have been able to attend and this one was the best in many respects. They had a total of between 1000 and 2000 vehicles and lots of vendors from places like Holland, France, Belgium and Denmark. Of course, lots of British vendors also but no North American ones that I saw.
There were lots of WC Dodges, but no later M series trucks. Most od the English guys get their trucks from continental Europe and apparently they did not have many post-war trucks. If so, they have not released them. Vintage should have a stand there...there is a lot of interest in getting Dodge parts and some of things that are relatively available in the US are nearly impossible to get there. The reverse may also be true. I never so many nice command cars and carryalls in my life.
This year, there were more Axis vehicles also including both tanks, trucks and field weapons. They have show ring where they demonstrate various vehicles and they had a great time crushing cars with tanks. Also the tanks demonstrated firing their guns.
I did shoot some video and I will put this together with the hillclimbing activities in Iowa when I get back in a week or so. If you guys are thinking about a holiday in England, I suggest you work it around this date next year. It is a great show.
