I used one of the "Bullet" bits by DeWalt (Black & Decker). It is a brad point styel bit that drilla a nearly flat bottom hole, and with the various sizes available, can be used on sheet metal and stiffener welds. I used them to drill out all the welds to swap a dash panel, firewall, and rear window opening in converting a '70 cab into a '66 cab (sweptline). I must have drilled at least 200 spotwelds, and the Bullet bit left a good, smooth hole, and did not damage the substrate metal. Made for easy mig welding to duplicate the spot welds upon reassembly.
