Wood Blocks

I took my cab off yesterday to be media blasted, and found two wood blocks under the front part of the cab. The bolts holding the cab were bolted through the blocks. I have never heard or read anything about wood blocks under the cab.Its 47 WDX. Is the wood correct? They look like 1.5" thick, kinda like a 2x4. Thanks.
