A friend of mine and I battled mine. We took a short piece of pipe and added fingers to it that would fit down into the cap and drilled a hole in it for flex bar. We put the carrier in a differential holder and heated it up. We then took our homemade socket with a 4 ft bar and started to turn. We pulled so hard that we tipped his work bench that weighed 600# +. Installing the lockrite was easy. Replacing the diff. cap was really difficult and took a lot of effort even though we heated it up. Not a job for the faint at heart. No drift and hammer would have gotten my diff. case apart. I did drill new holes.
