brake controllers

Does anyone have any good advise about trailer brake contollers? I plan on doing a bit of towing with my 1997 Chevy Suburban and need to put an electric trailer brake controller in it. Any recommendations, stories, thoughts, experiences that can help me to make a semi-informed decision?
