One thing to check real quick is for contamination on the new points. A small bit of grease or oil could be causing your no-start condition. Use some alcohol on a lint free cloth to clean them off. Also, be sure that the gap is really set correctly, a small deviation here also affects your ignition timing as well as the points dwell. The points gap must be set with the points follower sitting on the exact top of the distributor cam lobe. After setting your points gap, recheck your ignition timing to see if it's out of spec's. Condensors are very cheap and are often the cause of your condition with points distributors, so go ahead and replace it.
