rounded off drain plug

My son was trying to drain the tranny fluid on his Jeep TJ 5 speed manual. He was using a 15/16" open end wrench and accidentally rounded the plug off (I told him next time use the box end). HE has tried various sized sockets to no avail. It looks like the tranny and plug are aluminum, and the drain plug is not very thick. Ideas?
