swift kick to the old soap box?? Ha! Ha! Webster says on page 950 of the 1977 edition of the "New Collegiate Dictionary" that a rabbet is a: channel, grove, or recess cut out of the edge or face of any body. On another page (963) it says that a rebate is a variation of rabbet. So I guess it's like "to-may-toe" or "ta-ma-toe". Here's your soap box back! Ha! Ha!
