Make sure the mill gives you at least 1" thick boards. 1 1/16" may be better, as you have to plane it down to 13/16" after drying.
It takes about one year of air drying per inch of thickness.
Coat the ends with something like latex paint to decrease the tendency for the ends to crack when you get them home. I always have the mill cut the boards one foot longer than the "finished length" so I can trim off any cracked ends when finishing.
