The fuel pump on my '61 leaked too. It's the same mechanical setup. I removed it, cleaned some things up, kept the old gaskets as patterns for new gaskets and made new gaskets. Buy the thick (.020-.030") thick gasket sheets at the parts supply store and touch it off with Permatex Copper spray gasket. Don't get carried away with it. A little goes a long way. I've never had one leak or fail.
The two gaskets that you might need to fabricate and replace are the pump to block seal and the upper pump gasket.
