Man did I have fun today getting insurance for the WC-53 that I'm getting ready to roll down the road. I first called my adgent, State Farm, they called me back after talking to their underwriter and said unless it was a 42 truck they could not "classify" a Carryall and could not insure it. So then I went to the old posts in the archives and found Haggerty, went online to fill out a quote and got a screen that said "Sorry we don't insure you types in Alaska". AAAHHHH! Then I called a bunch of other so called classic or vintage auto insurance agencies and with all of them all was going well until I said Alaska or 4X4 then it was backpedal city, oooohhh we can't insure you. AAAAAHHHHH!!!! Then I called Haggerty, and they were great, (couldn't help me because of Alaska) but they took the time to hook me up with Progressive Insurance. I got the old WC-53 insured for stated value of 25k, 300k liability, no pics, no limit on milage, no seasonal restrictions, no problems with AK or 4X4, for about 150 bucks a year. Load off my shoulders, I was starting to wonder how I was going to explain 6 years of work and all that there money and no insurance to drive it to my wife. Was wondering how I was going to put a wood burning stove in the shed.
