Hey gear heads.....
My PW's 230 started to make some strange noises about a week ago. A rather loud pinging (at engine speed, not 1/2 engine speed) that would begin after idling for about 3-4 minutes. If I rev'ed the engine it would go away, but return at idle after 2-3 mins. Oil preasure is Ok. It still starts quite well, and seems to have plenty of power. Its not coming from the generator, its new. Its not the water pump or fuel pump either. Tonight I'm going to do the normal spark plug short out trick to try and locate which cylinder it may be coming from. Is there any deep dark secrets about 230's I should know? This is my first experience with one.
