This is really an interesting post subject because it's important for one but also as times/lubricant formulas change, what proper lubricant to use is important as well.
I mean -- sure -- 85-140 is probably what Dodge recomended back then however you would'nt want to use 140 in a cold climate due to the extra drag it will cause.
Obviously heavy grease won't lube the universal which can't be gotten at any other way to lube.
A well known outdoor power equipment company recommends a "OO" grease/oil for the gearboxes of they're equipment but they run at a very slow speed and the oil tends to seperate from the grease and leaks out.
So it's really interesting to see what really works the best for "today".
